The Nebraska Rod and Custom Association was formed in 1988 to provide a forum from which special interest vehicle owners could provide a clear and strong voice on legislative issues which affect our hobby. We act as a catalyst for these interests, not as a club. We have over 1400 active members in Nebraska and surrounding states.

NRCA Warhorse Retires.

NRCA Officers, Board Members and Members,

I want to make official my retirement from the NRCA.

Who would have thought at our first meeting at Misty's in Lincoln in 1988 that we would grow into this vibrant, colorful and all around fun organization that we are today.  We all put some money in a Speedway hat and we came up with $109 and we figured that was enough for a newsletter and we were on our way.  We appointed Roger Nunn as our first president and 4 years later we held an election and I was the first elected President of the NRCA.  Four years later I passed the office onto someone else, just as I am doing with my place on the Board as an Area Rep.  I worked to incorporate us, and the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association, Inc. was born, and even with the stuffy name, we continued to be 'Fun with Old Cars'.

I truly enjoyed my time in harness as an NRCA warhorse, but it is time to pass that on to a younger more energetic group.  I think the first roster I printed on my computer had 39 names and now we have grown to 1400 strong members.  So I feel confident that I am leaving the organization in good hands.

I hope to see all of you on the road, and who knows - I might finally get the 33 done.

No hard feelings, just good memories and good times.
