Nebraska
Rod & Custom Association
We started the NRCA swapmeet to raise money for our Scholarship Fund, unfortunately we have not been able to attract enough Vendors. After we pay the advertising expense, there just hasn't been much left. Your area reps have said we need to change that and make the swap meet or a modified swap meet successful.
Instead of having an NRCA swap meet with all of the expense that goes along with it, we are instead asking you to donate a swap meet item to us and we will sell it at the area swap meets. All proceeds will be added to our Scholarship Fund. NRCA of course will reserve the right to refuse items we would not deem as salable and will be committed to storing anything that does not sell and to take it to other swap meets. If you or your business can donate a swap meet item, the funds raised will go to a great cause.
The idea is that most of us probably have something laying around that we feel has value, but know we will not use. Why not get your value out of it by knowing you are truly helping a kid go to school and attain a profession that will enhance their quality of life in Nebraska for years to come?
Giving is something we have never talked about in any of NRCA’s newsletters before. We have consistently talked about the value NRCA provides to it’s members and how members working together can do far more than each of us individually. Let an area rep know what you have and deliver it to them. Give us an idea of what you think it is worth and we will try to sell it at that price if we can.
We would like you to take a look around and see what you can give NRCA to sell at the Lincoln Swap meet next year to be used to support additional scholarships. It will be direct dollar for dollar benefit with no expenses such as advertising cutting into the good we can do with the money raised.
It is a cause that we sincerely hope each member will consider supporting. Collectively we will be amazed at the support NRCA can generate for the scholarship program even with modest donations!
