Rod & Custom AssociationNRCA 2005 Scholarships Awarded
The association has awarded two $1,000 scholarships for the 2005-2006 school term to be used at a Nebraska Technical College. Applicants must apply and be chosen for an interview based on a written application. Interviews are typically held in April each year with the winner announced shortly after completion of the interviews.
The Dennis Hopkins memorial scholarship was awarded to Adam Price of Kimball. Adam has enrolled in the Western Nebraska Community College at Scottsbluff. He is enrolled in auto body and has hope of getting into more artistic work in future years. The Hopkins scholarship is in recognition of long time NRCA member who was very supportive of this program, however, he passed away in 2004 after a long illness.
The NRCA scholarship was awarded to Payden Daly of Thedford. Payden has enrolled in the Central Community College at Hastings with a dual emphasis of auto body and automotive technology.
NRCA has produced a DVD of the past two years Tour Nebraska event with the help of volunteers. The proceeds from the sale of DVD has been earmarked to be used in the development of scholarships. The association will also for the first time hold a swap meeting in 2005, with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund. Helping our youth to attain education and skills in automotive professions has been very rewarding.
