1937 Ford Coupe
Owned by Dee and Gary Hedman
Originally completed in 1986, this is the
owner's first street rod following many years of drag racing in Kansas.
It now has 50,000 miles and almost a second everything including paint job,
engine, interior, wheels, radiator, and transmission. Considered a "driver"
only, you won't see this dark blue Ford at many car shows. The miles have
been for the most part trouble free, but the coupe's big trunk is known
for carrying a multitude of parts, which have been used to help others.
Recent upgrades include a heater and a buzzer to let you know when the turn
signals are still on. When built, the couple's son Travis would lay in the
area behind the seat on long trips. That area now holds a cooler and often
the lap top computer used to write the NRCA newsletter. This vehicle is
easily distinguished by its personalized license plate, "TOUR NEB".
Upgrades for the coming year include replacement of the front bumper whose
chrome has become pitted by the many miles and a new radio with more volume
for those interstate trips with the windows down.
