1938 Chevrolet Sedan
Owned by Craig Paro

Our 1938 Chevy sedan has been on the road since 1982. It was an original driver that had belonged to a Doctor. I had to Give his relatives $2000 and a ladder for the car. They needed the ladder to get their lawn furniture down from the garage attic - they had been walking up the running boards, up the fenders, across the hood to the roof of the car and then dragging the lawn furniture back down. The old lady would not give up the car until I told her I would throw in the ladder.

There are very few things as interesting as tearing apart an old car. The upholstery was really hilarious. It had been re-done some time in the 50's and every where you could not see was covered with someone's old bloomers. Lift up the back seat and it got really colorful. Of course the main body work support was "Old Screen Door" or Hamm's beer cans. It also had a "South Wind" heater that had it's own fuel line that went through a hole drilled in the bowl of the carburetor. And the old shall be replaced with the new and a Street Rod was born.

It has carried us many, many miles. It has pre-run each Tour Nebraska and participated in each Tour, of course. It has also attended events in Oklahoma, Minnesota, Kansas, Colorado, Kentucky and Nebraska. It won it's bracket three years in a row at the Nebraska Nostalgia Drags, and it won Top Dog trophy one of those years. It has a new blower motor, transmission and radiator. Future plans include a trip to the Bonneville Slat Flats for a try at the 130 and 150 mph club.
